Sail with us from Athens to Rome aboard Azamara’s small ship Pursuit
October 2 to October 9, 2025!
We begin the journey in Athens, the birthplace of democracy, the arts, science and philosophy of Western Civilization. After more than 3400 years, it remains a vital cultural center filled with, well, museums, of course. But also, amazing nightlife, spectacular restaurants ranging from extravagant outdoor dining to traditional taverns with local dishes to incredible street food. Stunning views and awe-inspiring sunsets are also on the menu for this amazing capital.
We’ll board the Azamara Pursuit there and spend 7 magical nights visiting Turkey, Crete, Sicily, Amalfi, Sorrento and finally, we’ll disembark in the other ancient capital of civilization, Rome, Italy. More epicurean delights, arts and the magic that is Roma await! I suspect that Barbara will create unique experiences for us there, as well, before we head back home.
The Pursuit was chosen specifically because of the resident Steinway Grand piano in The Drawing Room, allowing our group to gather for cocktails and intimate listening at the piano. You might walk by on an afternoon and hear Emile practicing, or doing an impromptu session after dinner if the room is available. The setting is a favorite of Emile’s.
Our first adventure, 10 years ago now, took us to many of these same ports. We are so excited to be returning to them, to explore them further! Italy is deep in Emile’s heart (and in his playing). If you travel with him to Italy, you’ll gain a little more insight to the man. You’ll also experience the beauty of what man has built over thousands of years, a tribute to the intellect and creativity of the human spirit.
These trips are coordinated by the world-class travel pro, Barbara King of A Travel Odyssey. Just take a look at this year’s itinerary We hope you can join us!
Past Comments from Musical Adventures:
“I can finally reflect on one of our best trips EVER!! YOU did an amazing job on every detail from the first booklet sent early on, which truly got us excited, to the last night farewell party! We loved every minute of the trip and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your hard work !" Jenny and Dick (SC)
“ Thank you for every second of our trip to England and France! The trip was perfection: beautiful hotels in perfect locations, knowledgeable guides, a perfect mix of touring, exploring and eating and drinking, and one of a kind evenings. Your attention to detail, your humor, your love for what you do, all add to the glorious experience. Thank you for everything you do to make travel so easy and so fulfilling!” Anne (NC)
“For us, we appreciated the freedom to be with people or not; to try something new such as Monet's Water Garden or to acknowledge tiredness and to give things a miss. There was no pressure … but once we had tasted the quality of the offerings we were 'hooked'. What a time we had.
Jenny and I were a little apprehensive, as the big date for embarkation came upon us but that was unnecessary. The trip was brilliantly put together by your good self with so much meticulous pre-planning and wise decision making based on your long experience of the travel industry. What a thoroughly relaxing yet stimulating trip we had.” Tim and Jenny (UK)
